The Development of Reporting Guideline of clinical Practice Guidelines in General Practice
The number of international clinical practice guidelines for general practice or grassroots has gradually increased by years, but there are still problems such as low methodological quality and unstandardized reporting. Standardized reporting for guidelines not only ensure the integrity, transparency and reliability of the guidelines, but also help medical personnel to read, evaluate and use the guidelines efficiently.
Reporting Items for practice Guidelines in HealThcare (RIGHT) provides an important direction for clearing and standardizing reporting of guidelines. However, there are differences between clinical practice at the grassroots level and specialized hospitals in terms of patients, medical environment, priority issues and other aspects, and the existing items cannot cover the main points that the general practice guidelines need to report. Therefore, based on the main RIGHT Statement, a group of Chinese scholars published the basic version of the clinical Practice Guidelines on January 30, 2023.
On the basis of the RIGHT items, the group modified 5 items and added 10 new items, covering the four fields of basic information, background, recommendation and other aspects. The Development of Reporting Guideline of clinical Practice Guidelines in General Practice provides detailed guidance for the makers and writers of the general practice guidelines, which will further improve the reporting quality of the general practice guidelines, especially the Chinese general practice guidelines, and promote the application in general medical practice, thus finally improving the quality of primary medical care.
